Hi There

Our mission is to redefine the way we grow fresh produce, or what we like to call ‘Redefining Fresh’. Started as an idea in a garage as back in 2017 wanting to challenge the status quo of the agri-industry we asked ourselves why can’t you get fresh produce all year round? Once we nailed the how (indoor vertical farming) we then asked ourselves the what?
And after much trial and error that’s where we find ourselves now, producing a wide range of microgreens, lettuces and strawberries across our three locations. Our microgreens and strawberries sit pride of place on plates across New Zealand homes and restaurants and cafes!

Redefining Fresh
What happens when two agri-industry greats share a passion for delicious fresh produce that’s packed with nutrients? They turn 4 seasons into 26, redefining what it means to grow and eat fresh produce! Our greens have an average growth cycle of two weeks.
So, with our indoor vertical farming methods we produce microgreens, leafy greens and strawberries under innovative LED lighting technology, for 26 Seasons a year; or as we like to call it – Non-Stop Nature. Without seasonal constraints you can eat the fresh food you love all year round.
Sustainability At Our Hearts

Three years ago, when 26 Seasons was born in a small Wellington garage, we knew two things – we wanted to produce the best-tasting produce for chefs and home cooks a like, but we wanted to do it without taking too much from our land. So, mixing a lot of Kiwi ingenuity with plenty of research and expert advice, we’re proud to say the result is sustainable farming and business practices that mean we can grow and distribute our products without compromising mother nature.
We don’t use any pesticides, herbicides or chemicals, no soil (we use biodegradable seed mats), approx. 80% of our water is recycle and our take home trays are curbside recyclable. Our farms are located in Auckland, Wellington and Foxton, reducing food miles. We are always challenging ourselves with ways to do things better so rest assured we will continue to come up with innovative and sustainable solutions for the love of our planet.
Redefining Farming
The current state of our planet requires us to take a look at how we currently produce fresh greens and berries and start to look at more friendly ways to do this, so we don’t take so much away from the land. We’ve developed three of New Zealand’s first indoor vertical farms right in an industrial hub in Auckland, an old nightclub in the heart of Wellington and an old warehouse in Foxton.
Our innovative farming methods are paving the way to a new future of food production in our country. We believe in having minimal impact on the planet, so we use NO herbicides, pesticides, chemicals or soil and recycle our water (and that's just the start). What this means for you is knowing that when you eat our produce that’s all you are getting – just delicious nutrient-packed greens or berries with no nasties and minimal impact to the environment. Sounds like a huge step forward to fixing the food economy if you ask us!

Our Founders
Steve and Matt are a couple of guys who have worked in agriculture, were interested in the hydroponic growing of microgreens and the potential to grow them indoors in the city. Matt designed an environmentally-friendly grow system that produced microgreens that were high in taste and nutrition. Soon Matt was selling them to some of Wellington's top restaurants. Lucy Matheson joined to help get 26 Seasons' products into the hands of consumers interested in food and health, opening up both online and supermarket channels.
Our Nutrition
Microgreens have up to 100x the nutritional benefit of mature plants. Such a good way for you to get all the nutrients you need to be healthy and happy. Check out our shop page for more nutritional information.
